About Tracy
Tracy Lough, LM, CPM
Licensed Midwife • Craniosacral Therapist
I believe birth is not something to be managed, but a powerful, transformative experience to be supported with care, trust, and deep respect.
I was drawn to midwifery because I felt there was something missing in how many women were being cared for during pregnancy and birth. Too often, birth was treated as something to manage, rather than a powerful experience to be supported. I knew I wanted to be part of a different kind of care—one that felt calm, respectful, and deeply personal.
My path into this work grew out of a deep desire to create spaces where women and families feel safe, supported, and truly cared for. Over the years—through attending hundreds of births, building a life rooted in community, and creating spaces like the Birth Yurt and Forest & Farm School—I came to see how profoundly environment, presence, and gentle care shape both birth and early childhood. This work has never felt separate from the way I live; it is woven into my values of slowing down, listening closely, and honoring the body’s natural rhythms. It continues to be an honor to walk alongside families during such meaningful and transformative moments in their lives.
I am the mother of three children, all born at home, and I deeply value including siblings in the birth experience. I am currently writing a book, The Birth Yurt, inspired by the families I have served in Humboldt County—a reflection of the work that has shaped and deepened my gratitude for this calling. My care blends evidence-based practice with holistic modalities, including herbalism, homeopathy, and craniosacral therapy.
Over the past 14 years as a Licensed Midwife, I have attended nearly 500 births and supported countless families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Today, I serve families in Los Angeles and Ventura County.
It is an honor to walk alongside women and families during one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives.

Tracy created and held a space of love, compassion and support that was exactly what we had envisioned for the birth of our daughter. Her knowledge and experience made us feel safe and well informed in our decisions, this continued after the birth as she provided amazing in home postpartum care for our baby and us as parents.
